Why exactly are you inserting footprints and symbols from a custom palette, when they are already set up in their own distinct dialog boxes (the Icon Menus)? You're actually going to a lot of trouble to.make more work for yourself. In essence, you are creating more work for yourself because now you have to go back and manually adjust every block so that it will properly function in the software. By inserting from the custom tool palette, you have bypassed this functionality. When you add a symbol or other ACADE block, the compiled command code tells the software to put certain attributes on certain layers. Inserting from tool palettes doesn't support this.Īll the symbol blocks are drawn with everything on Layer 0. You can also select it from the Type it or Browse options in the bottom left-hand corner of the icon menu. You can add your new symbol to the icon menu. You will always face this problem, when trying to insert symbols or footprints from a tool palette.ĪCADE automatically puts those things on layers for you, **IF** you insert the symbols using ACADE commands. New symbols you create are inserted with the AutoCAD Electrical toolset Insert Component or Insert Panel Component commands. My suggestion is, don't insert anything from a tool palette.
